Guitar Right Hand Tapping
This technique was introduced and was known to mankind in a mind – bursting kind – of – way by Eddie Van Halen of the band “Van Halen” back in the late 70’s. Guitar players all over the world who witnessed this phenomenon was converted to this religion and their paradigms shattered. He did it on their first – album, on the song “Eruption”. By the way, the song itself is just a petty excuse to make way for the greatness and massive epicness of guitar god Eddie to manifest his guitar glory to the world; and it did; and it surpassed expectations; and it became the blueprint for almost all solos to come.

Guitar Right Hand Tapping – Explanation
The letters above the tab are the actual notes. The letter and number combination are the hand and the finger. R2 means right hand, middle finger. The “po” stands for the technique “Pull Off” and the “ho” stands for the technique “Hammer On”. Now, study this carefully and try to do it slowly at first and gradually build up speed. Once you have grasped the concept of guitar right hand tapping you can experiment on other patterns.
